We grew up together, we played together, we laughed together, we fought fires together, many memories of fun times.
As Fire Chief for Stanbridge Easst for over 22 years I could count on Les anytime whether it was fighting fires in 4 diff towns, organizing the annual picnics still growing after 49 years and so much more.
Les was always there to help.....so many memories......what a guy.....I could relate stories of our escapades for hours.
From saving the wine at a fire in Dunham church fire to moving outhouses during Hallow een night in Stanbridge East.
We.lived the best times, had the best times that one can imagine in a small town. Swimming at Blinns swimming hole and just having a great time.As I mentioned I could go oh and on.
Rest in peace "Lackey" as I called you then and the last time I saw you at cousin Raymond Wescotts residence on your last visit..
The firemen who have passed before you are waiting for you and will welcome you on that great SEFD there.
You were one of the original 8 ......Raymond and I will catch up with you all in due course......in the meantime keep the boys there.out of trouble ........that wine you saved from the church fire must be gone by now but we will find some there, and we know there is beer in heaven.
So long buddy, till we meet again.

My sympathies to Leslie's family .It's been a while since I've been in contact with Leslie, but remember him from events and he lived nearby. He was also a fireman with my husband Peter Blinn.

I was saddened to hear of the passing of my Uncle Leslie over the weekend.
I send condolences to all of my cousins, the extended Lackey family and Cecile.
I last saw Uncle Leslie at the Dorval arena, where Kim and I were playing in a hockey tournament together.
It was a nice evening, as I was able to bring my dad, Arthur,Leslie's brother, and they were able to spend several hours together. I don't think they spent much time watching Kim and I play hockey..
